The Long Beach City College Communication and Community Engagement team has a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual in the role of Web Content & Electronic Media Coordinator. This position manages projects relating to the web content of the college in order to increase visibility and understanding about the mission of Long Beach City College (LBCC) to a diverse audience base. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills as the position collaborates with internal stakeholders to creatively execute LBCC's vision. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter who takes pride and ownership of their work and is a compelling communicator and team player.

AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION
• Type of position: Full Time (M-F, from 8am to 5pm)
• Location: Liberal Arts Campus
• Hybrid work schedule is currently available (3 days required in the office)
• Salary: Range 37 - $5,298.68 to $6,532.78 Monthly
• Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step on the salary schedule. Advanced salary placement may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Coordinator oversees the College's web content across all digital platforms and social media presence to improve engagement and grow LBCC's online userbase. The position serves as a lead to staff assigned to the communications department. Implements digital and social media strategies to increase visibility and understanding about the mission of Long Beach City College (LBCC) to a diverse audience base.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This position is responsible for the consistency, quality and clarity of digital and social media content in alignment with the Long Beach City College brand. This position works closely with other members of the Communications team (media relations, creative and graphic design, publications, outreach and special events). Regular, ongoing collaboration with colleagues from across various college departments to promote goals, messaging, programs and classes is an essential function of this position. Interaction with internal and external stakeholder groups (current students, prospective students, parents of high school students, third-party vendors) is necessary to ensure the College's web and social media efforts are meeting the needs of our diverse audiences.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:
• Graduation from a four-year college or university a Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, journalism, information technology/web/social media, marketing or related field
• Proven experience of web design, and social media strategies, including the use of various social media tools in community outreach and engagement
• Proven experience with content management systems such as Wordpress and Drupal
• Demonstrated experience in improving a college and/or public agency's digital presence.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

• If you participate in and fail any examination segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (~3 months) to test again for the same classification.
Selection Process:
The following examination segments may be utilized during the selection process:
• Application screening: Week of May 16th, 2022
• Performance Exam and Oral Panel Interview: Week of May 23 or May 30, 2022
• Final Interview: Week of June 20th, 2022
